Visit the rescue!

If you're interested in volunteering at MCHS, we warmly invite you to visit our rescue and experience, firsthand, who and what we are!

Complete an application

Please take the time to carefully review and fill out the application form. For roles such as dog walkers and cat socializers, we typically seek candidates with prior experience in handling these animals, preferably in a shelter environment, though we carefully consider every application. 

Attend a Volunteer Information Session

Following the review of your application, you will receive an invitation to attend a Volunteer Information Session at our rescue. Please allow up to 3 weeks for us to process your application.

Agree to possessing Essential Capabilities

All volunteers must demonstrate certain capabilities listed here.

Attend assigned training
Upon acceptance into our program, our volunteer coordinator will arrange training sessions for you, pairing you with a volunteer mentor or a member of our MCHS staff to conduct your training.
