We are a regional animal welfare organization looking for an energetic, savvy marketer to help us advance our mission and programs through effective communications and events planning. The best candidate will be a creative self-starter who bring at least 5 years of experience in marketing communications, events planning, public relations (preferred) and publicity, ideally in the non-profit/charity arena, and who is looking for an opportunity to make a real difference for his or her organization.
In this position, you’ll be on the front lines of promoting our image and getting our word out — crafting messages about our work and how we help our community, planning how we convey these messages, and creating materials (print and online) that will boost the programs that fund and advance our mission of ending animal homelessness. You’ll also plan our varied (and fun!) special events during the year, and provide the promotional support to increase sales at our very popular thrift store.
Specific skills required:
- Excellent writing for correspondence, direct mail and other marketing communications
- Excellent social media skills and savvy
- Strong customer service and people skills
- Event planning experience
- Strong organizational skills
- A drive to make a significant impact on how we promote our work in the community
- A bachelor’s degree required in Marketing or Communications
We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, annual leave and holidays, 401(k) plan, free parking, and an ability to make a real impact on the lives of homeless animals and the people who love their adopted pets.
Please indicate salary requirements and provide your resume, two writing samples (required), and a cover letter expressing why you are the very best candidate for this position to MCHS, 601 South Stonestreet Ave., Rockville, MD 20850 or email to: human resources.
