Thank you for choosing to donate your items to Wagging Tails Thrifts and Gifts. We are part of the Montgomery County Humane Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which shelters, cares for and adopts out homeless, abused and neglected animals in Montgomery County and beyond. All proceeds from the sale of donated items at Wagging Tails support the work of MCHS.
Donation hours:
Donations are accepted Monday through Friday, 10am to 5pm.
Saturday, 10am to 4pm
Sunday, 11am to 4pm
Donations are accepted at the loading dock in the parking lot behind the store. Please do not leave items at any other time. Shopping center employees clean early in the morning and dispose of all unattended items in the parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.
We are happy to provide a tax deduction donation slip at the time of donation.
If you need assistance with pick up of large items, or have questions about this service, contact Irene Tercy, Manager.
Please note - Condition of donations: Wagging Tails has limited ability to clean items, and no ability to provide dry cleaning or to make repairs. Therefore, all donations should be clean and in good/working condition.

Items we CAN ACCEPT:
| Appliances: |
Fans, heaters, microwaves and small dorm refrigerators
All appliances should be clean, safe and in working order.
No damaged cords, please.

| Books: |
Audio books, either on tape or CD.
Hardback and paperback books.
Books should be clean and free of “musty book smell.”
Books should not be damaged (broken spines/covers, highlighting, underlining).

| Clothing: |
Clothing for men, women and children including belts, gloves, hats, scarves,
shawls and ties.
Clothing should be clean with no stains, holes or missing buttons.
Shoes for men, women and children in good clean condition. |
| Computer Equipment: |
Complete working computers with CPU and monitor (Windows XP and newer, please).
We do not accept spare parts for computers.
Hard drives should be clean and password free.
We also accept new computer equipment and flat screens.

| Electronics: |
Boom boxes, cameras, DVD players, gaming systems, GPS devices,
MP3 players, record players, speakers, stereo equipment,
TV’s with a built-in DVD or VHS.
All electronics should be complete and in working condition.

| Furniture: |
Furniture in good clean condition with no stains, deep scratches or broken parts.
|
| Household items: |
China, coffee makers, crystal, framed artwork, lamps, microwaves, mixers,
pots and pans, picture frames, pottery, Pyrex dishes, flatware and silverware, small kitchen appliances, telephones, and vases.
All small household appliances should be clean, safe and in working order.
No damaged cords, please.

| Jewelry: |
We accept all jewelry. |
| Linens: |
Dishtowels, napkins, new (unused) sheets or bedspreads, tablecloths, towels,
throw pillows,
vintage linens.
All linens should be clean and stain-free. |
| Miscellaneous: |
Bicycles, brief cases, canes, CD’s, cell phones, collectibles, craft supplies,
videotapes, DVDs, eyeglasses, golf clubs, ice skates, luggage, office equipment,
purses, records (LP’s and 45 ‘s), tap dance shoes, toiletries, totes, unused candles, unopened and non-expired food, wicker baskets.

| Pet items: |
Bird cages, cat trees, crates, small/medium fish tanks, food and water bowls, leashes and collars, non-prescription medicine, towels, toys, unopened and non-expired pet food, unopened litter.
Please make sure that items are clean, complete and rust and/or stain-free.

| Toys: |
Dolls, games, stuffed animals, toys, new and unopened jigsaw puzzles.
Please make sure that toys are clean, complete and stain-free.

Because of the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act - 2008), we also CANNOT ACCEPT the following:
- Children’s clothing with sequins
- Children’s books published before 1986
- Children’s toys with small pieces a child could choke on
- Children’s furniture containing lead paint
- Recalled toys and other items
|
Please be mindful that donated items we cannot sell must be disposed of at our time and cost, which takes precious resources away from animals in need.
