Tips For Transporting Orphaned Wildlife |
Punch holes from the inside out, into a cardboard box or other
container. |
Place t-shirt or other soft cloth inside of box (toenails may get stuck in
bath towels, comforters, blankets etc.)
|
Use a pillowcase to cover the animals, then scoop up gently and place
in box. |
Do not give the animals food or water; they could develop digestive
problems, choke, or drown. |
Transport the animals to a local wildlife rescue center as soon as
possible. |
Keep the animals in a warm, dark, quiet place away from pets, children, and noise before transporting.
|
During the car ride, keep the container out of the sun, away from direct air conditioning or heat, keep talking to a minimum and the car radio off.
