Low-Cost

Spay/Neuter

Thank you for being a responsible pet owner. If you have adopted a pet from the Montgomery County Humane Society, you are required to have the animal spayed or neutered, per your contract agreement.

If the adopted animal has not yet been spayed/neutered, you will be required to purchase a low cost spay/neuter coupon at the time of adoption. Please keep in mind that each vet has different costs for pain medication, overnight care, and blood work etc. that are not included in the coupon. Please call two or more vets to determine the overall cost. A list of participating veterinarians will be provided to you at the time of adoption.

Even if you have not adopted your pet from the MCHS, but you are a Montgomery County resident, there are many veterinarians in Montgomery County that will provide you with a low/cost spay or neuter.

The Low Cost Spay Neuter Program is available to residents of Montgomery County, Maryland. Fees are based upon your family's income.
