Rockville, Maryland – March 1, 2010 – The Montgomery County Humane Society has recognized Solomon Perl, DVM, as Veterinarian of the Year for his many years of service and dedication to shelter animals.
A familiar figure at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter, Dr. Perl has given countless dogs, cats and other animals untold hours of medical care including veterinary medications and vaccinations. He’s performed neuter surgeries, examined animals for eye, ear, skin or other infections, and provided basic medical care for common conditions such as kennel cough or upper respiratory infection.
Known throughout Montgomery County as a mobile veterinarian, Dr. Perl is founder and owner of House Calls for Pets. He is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

The Montgomery County Humane Society in Rockville, MD, is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that has provided animal sheltering services for Montgomery County since 1958. MCHS receives funds to operate the Montgomery County Animal Shelter under a grant from the Montgomery County Government and from private donations. As the only full-service animal shelter in the county, MCHS handles more than 9,000 animals annually, and, as an open admission shelter, never turns an animal away.
