MCHS is seeking energetic and passionate committee members for our two signature events -- Paws in the Park and the Love Ball. Your service on these committees will help us make these events better than ever and proceeds directly benefit homeless, abandoned and abused animals in our care.
Committees meet from 6–7pm on Tuesdays or Wednesdays with 10 – 15 meetings for each event. Outside of meetings, time commitments and are based upon your availability, and we can discuss your areas of interest. Help us by bringing your fundraising or business experience and your connections.

Paws in the Park, an annual dog walk and festival, is held in the springtime and draws more than 500 attendees. This year, the event is scheduled for Sat. April 23 at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm in Gaithersburg. Details? see the 2010 event review.
Paws in the Park committee members assist with:
- sponsors, in-kind sponsors, and media sponsors
- vendors
- special guests and VIP tent
- promotion and electronic communication
- entertainment
- attendee gifts
- logistics and on-site staffing
On Sat. Oct. 22, 2011, MCHS will hold the Love Ball annual gala at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda. This premier MCHS event sold out last year brought together 300 animal lovers and their dogs to celebrate MCHS’ compassionate work. Love Ball committee members assist with:
- acquiring live and silent auction items
- sponsors, in-kind sponsors and media sponsors
- special guests
- ticket and table sales
- logistics and on-site staffing
- promotion and electronic communication
- printed materials
- entertainment
- menu selection
- audio visual and video production
- VIP and guest gifts
